Today I finally got around to add a del.icio.us feed to the sidebar of the blog. I started using del.icio.us a while ago to maintain links. I believe this somewhat changed the blog content. I have a feeling that I seldom post interesting links to the blog itself. Instead I have been bookmarking them at del.ici.us in order to be able to find them again later. To compensate I’ve wanted to add a sidebar displaying the most recent del.icio.us bookmarks. The reason I have not done so earlier is that I thought it would be technically quite difficult.
Fortunately it turned out to be a lot simpler than I thought. At del.icio.us there’s a description of how to include a javascript in a web page to display the feed. Inserting this into the CoreBlog skin turned out to be pretty straight forward and all that was left was some tweeking and additions to the CSS for layout reasons.
